DIY Curtains

This house has four wide windows and five sliding doors. Some black hammered metal spray paint and a lot of pipes and pipe fittings served as an easy and inexpensive curtain rod solution for each window and door. The windows are two pipes joined together, but the curtain rods over the doors are made from one eight foot pipe. Ordering the fittings in bulk made them cheaper.

The curtains are actually twin bedsheets hung from curtain rings. Ordering white twin sheets in bulk packs allowed for a very inexpensive curtain option. The thickness of the sheets means there is no need to use blinds for privacy, as they can easily be pulled closed each night. While the sheets upstairs could stand to be hemmed (peep the extra material by the chair that is usually tucked under), downstairs with the tall ceilings they are just the right height. Additionally, they are easy to remove and wash. If for some reason the rods need to be removed, the pipes can be unscrewed.

While the table and chairs in this room serve as space for guests to sit and store items, it is used as a crafting table when there are no guests. The closet in this room is loaded with crafting supplies since guests don’t typically need a closet.

Dual use spaces are a great way to make sure your home meets all of your needs.

The artwork was made using inexpensive frames, hand lettering a favorite quote, and painting an easy abstract piece using colors from the room.

Art work for your space doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult.
