Inviting Balcony
This apartment has vertical blinds for the door, and apart from being difficult to pull closed, and super loud, they feel very dated. Putting opaque curtains on the balcony that can easily be pulled closed every night means there is no need to ever use the vertical blinds.
Having this seating space visible from the living room serves as an extension of the indoor living space, allowing it to feel more open and less cramped. Not having to close the blinds allows the living area to continue feeling open at night, instead of closed in. The twinkle lights also add an extra touch of cozy in the evenings.
The white curtains get pretty dirty from the elements and being pulled closed against the screen, but they can easily be removed and thrown in the washer.
The chairs and rug are from Target and have held up super well. The chairs are very comfortable and at least one if not three boys can be found jumping on them or relaxing in them almost every day.
